For the Tuba

This publishing program is based on the estate of my esteemed teacher and friend Leopold Kolar (1936-2012), Vienna Philharmonic and professor at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna.

He expanded key works of tuba literature with a cue notation to guide the tuba in navigating the score. This creates space for deep resonance with the work.

Prof. Leopold Kolar (1936-2012)

Training and Performance Basis

Prof. Kolar developed the manuscripts for his teaching and orchestral work. For him, a profound understanding of the work was the foundation of every musical endeavor.

I myself was privileged to use the sheet music as a tuba player in the Graz Philharmonic Orchestra and in my teaching at the Johann Joseph Fux Conservatory in Graz. Today, my students, using the same foundation, inspire orchestral musicians and, in turn, train young musicians with it.

The Publishing Program

Leopold Kolar's works include annotated orchestral parts with a focus on Richard Wagner, as well as orchestral studies and technical exercises for teaching. We are continuously working to publish all titles from his estate.
